Hi, I'm Val- owner of OO Designs & Obscura Organica Photography.

I am a scientist by training and a photographer by experience. I believe these two disciplines have molded my appreciation for the technical art of photography and blend to give me the attention to detail and ability to capture the beauty of special moments.

How did I get here?
I'm the person with too many hobbies...

A DIY bathroom remodel, hand training a bird, restoring a 1976 sailboat, making center pieces for a friend's wedding, competing in a 50 mile mountain bike race, - you name it, I've probably been brave (read: naïve) enough to try it. But through all of these adventures I noticed a pattern: While some hobbies came and went, a small select few stuck around consistently. Photography was the clear standout.

After realizing that my pursuit of capturing moments endured through the years, I decided to get serious about it. I have a science/ technical background and said to myself, "Use that strength to study the heck out of photography!"
Since that realization, I've been studying, practicing, and delivering. This is the journey I hope to be on for the rest of my life. I never want to stop learning and every photograph is unique and a new opportunity to continuously improve my skill.
